ive just recieved my p910i as an upgrade from vodafone and cant belive how cheap it feels. to be honest ive never used a p900 before and was just expecting (by the looks of the pictures ive seen) it to be a lot more sturdy. however i was suprised by the thumb board, i honestly thought that it wouldnt be strong enough to hold the p910 up whilst holding just the board itself. i still find it totally unpracticle though, the keys are just too small. anyways im selling it so if anyones interested: -

Build quality better than P900. Thumb board really good - I can hold the phone in one hand with the keypad resting in my palm and I can then use my other hand to enter text via the keypad. The P910 is a package of casing, h/w and very extensive s/w. Please search for the other threads where all the extensive features are explained.

Had P800/P900 & now the P910i
Just shows how peoples opinions vary. I thought the P800 had "Toy like" styling compared to my P900 which I thought had excellent build quality. The P910i I just got is just as good & I actually like the keypad & colour better than the P900.
I think the build quality is excellent & the keypad has been very well implememted & styled. Mines made in france.

I have to agree that the build quality feels excellent and the P910 has a smooth feel to it which the P900 didn't have
as for using the full keyboard, well I am a 2 thumbs person. I rest my two forefingers in the middle of the main body of the phone and coming in sideways from either side. I then rest the rest of my fingers down the rest of the back of the phone with one supporting at the base but behind the flip. I then use the thumb I am not typing with to provide backwards pressure to keep it all stable while I type with the other thumb. I can type quite quickly and accurately now but then this is the same technique I have used with attachable keypads on iPAQs so its quite natural for me by now

@masseur
Just tried your technique with the keypad and I like it, it allows quicker text entry than using my approach!

I'm glad you understood my explanation
has anyone else noticed the smooth feeling the P910 seems to have compared with the P900?

I'm still far quicker with the pen! I can write mistake free as quick as I can on paper. Still faster inputting text data on a proper keyboard though.
@massuer
Yes much smoother to the touch. I like it, oozes quality!
My thumbs are too big! I hold in my left hand, thumb near IR sensor, 3 fingers around back and the flip lodged between the chuncky part of the thumb base with little finger at the other side (keeps everything rigid & supported). Then type with forefinger of right hand.
I tried to force myself to use the thumbpad because its there but now gone back to writting.
