I have been looking at p800s on ebay for ages now, and just bought one... Despite some minor issues (like no charger... But I have a t68i charger, so i'm ok there..) the phone is cool. However, there is a black spot on the bottom left of the screen (spilled lcd..) so where can I geta new screen? (I can fit it myself...)
More Importantly, the phone says it has a lock code. Damn.. And I havea funny feeling the guy doesn't know it.. Yes, some might say I got ripped off.... (I've thought it myself) but I got it for a reasonable price, so meh.
What I want to know is, Does Flashing remove this lock? (I don't think it's a network lock..., but a handset lock)
Please send any help possible to "nickorooster @ gmail.com" and/or reply here....
Thanks very much...
Nick
PS: If anyone has a faulty phone with a working screen, is it possible to swap the two?

new screen costs around 150 thats if you can find some one stocking them (try globalmob.com). Default SE lock code is a 0000 no doubt you have already tried this, good luck. Does he have the lock code activated so you cant even access the phone with out the code?

You bought a phone that was nicked from someone. That is why there is a phonelock on it and no charger. Yes you can remove the lock by flashing the phone. But how do you flash the phone when you can access it because of the lock?

Excuse me mr but i am confident it is a security lock which you can activate which asks for a code on boot up when SIM is changed. If it was stolen it would not have a code on the screen just wont connect to a network. Try not to advise people on subjects you dont know anything about. The poor guy who created this topic might be shitting himself thinking he / she has been ripped of when this is not the case.

You can get replacement screens on ebay for £60 and they are dead easy to fit. You just need to be really careful as the contacts on the screen are very fragile.
I've done heaps of them and it's no problem at all.
As for the lock, not sure but it does sound like a possibility of the phone having been stolen. Contact the seller for the lock code and if he can't provide it then you can contact ebay and take it from there.
Good luck

@AVgas:
If it is the SIM-changed-code, it will get asked before the phone identifies itself to the supposedly barring network...

whenever some one puts a simcard in to my pXXX phone it asks for a code because thats the lock i have set on it. So this means this is the problem this person is having may be this if it was barred by the net work it would boot up but not get reception.
