> P900 cookies - where are they
Bookmark topic
Just got my new P900 and am trying to find out where the cookies are stored in the file system, I use opera if that makes a difference.
The reason I want to know this is because when I log into yahoo with my id and password the cookie only seems to work for a short time (hrs) so i'm guessing it has an short expiry date, it is a real pain having to sign in to yahoo almost evey time i access it from my phone, it also uses up costly data having to navigate to the login page every time then back to where i want to be.
any help would be much appriciated, I log into mobile.yahoo.com/finance
PS I don't have this problem on my PC IE browser

I wouldn't mind a longer-term Esato cookie on my P900 (HINT! HINT! LAFFEN & MODERATORS! HINT!) so I don't have to log in each time I visit from my P900...

Hi, welcome to Esato. I'm not too sure if you can alter the time before the cookie expires on the phone.

I'm not even sure if i'm on the right track, why would yahoo provide different cookies to my phone from my PC, is there a setting on the phone or within opera that i can change to fix this problem, just want it to work like my PC browser

No, that sort of information is controlled by the server. That is, when a cookie is set it is given an expiration date. This can be reset on the server-side also, to a positive (future) or negative (past) date. If set to a negative date, this effectively deletes the cookie (or more accurately, forces it to expire).

by server do you mean my isp server i.e. vodafone ? or yahoo
if yahoo why would they treat my p900 differently than my pc ?
if vodafone then this would be one of several things they are doing, they seem to be control freaks.

Yahoo - but I think it would be treated differently because it is a WAP or mobile site... Not the same site you sign into on your PC.

one cookie seems to do them all, while I can't login on my p900 my pc still logs in automatically without me entering password and that is to all yahoo sites so it is definately something to do with my pda access

Does this problem also occur when you do not Close Opera between sessions?
If I remember correctly, Opera deletes any cookies when you exit. A most welcome feature, if you ask me.

I don't think Opera does delete cookies when you exit. I can log into my site (www.p900club.us) which writes a cookie automatically, exit out of Opera, even restart my phone, and when I go back to the site using my P900 I am still logged in.
However, when I exit out of Opera and come back to Esato I must log back in again.
