I'm wanting to upgrade my K700 firmware and I know someone who has access to a SyncStation. It's one for a P800 apparently - no mention of DSS-20 or DSS-25 though. The only numbers on it are:
KRY 105 183 R1B
4040034
Ni73
03W04
Does anyone know if I can use this for the upgrade?

no, you can't use that - it has to be either dss-20 or dss-25

Is this something totally different then? I wasn't sure because there was no obvious "model" number

it is something different... it's a DCU-11 most likely what you've got. the DSS models all do say their model number on the bottom.

The P800 SyncStation IS the DSS-20.
No reason why it shouldn't work. Just had a look at the base of my DSS-25 and you're right, there's only some random numbers but no model number.

Conflicting information, just what I like

I'll ask her to try it out for me tomorrow and see if it works. I assume if it ISN't a DSS-20 or DSS-25 it will simple not work - rather than breaking the phone?
Thanks for the replies guys

it depends on when you bought your P800 as early models did come with the dcu-11 sync station while later ones got the DSS-20
that was my experience anyway s I had one of the first and then one late last year briefly
