Hi all,
I've no doubt there's something stupid I'm doing, but I can't accesss MSN (or any other IM service) usnig Agile Messenger on my P910. Opera works fine browsing full internet sites. Agile Messenger spends ages trying to connect, sends and receives about 3k of data and then says "Unable to connect to server".
I'm on Vodafone, and using the VF Contract Internet profile. I've read around the forums and even set up a new Internet profile as per Masseur's advice. I even called Vodafone to check that my account has everything enabled (they think all should be ok). Still no joy though.
Is there something I can type into Opera to check whether I can access all the ports Agile Messenger needs? Are there any other diagnostic things I can do? Or am I just making some dumbass mistake?
All help greatly appreciated, I'm dying to try this push-to-talk malarkey.
Cheers

I have xperienced the same problem and havent found a solution yet. I have a feeling that it could have something to do with Vodafones content control.

Well, good to know I'm not alone I suppose. I'm sure I've read that other people have accessed IM services using Agile Messenger through Vodafone though.

try calling vodafone n c wot they say.the service they provide mite not have access to the required ports.im not sure of the port number required to access msn services (i tink it mite be 8080, sum1 on this forum should know). once you find out this port number then fone vodafone to c if they are letting you access it on ur current subscription but if u have full internet settings then you should be able to access it no probs

Turns out it was a problem with Vodafone after all.
I did have agile messenger working about 3 months ago, but then it suddenly stopped working.
Vodafone added the MSN messenger port to the content control policy.
I've since removed content control using My Vodafone on the vodafone website and now MSN Messenger is working great!!
Vodafone charge you £1 to verify the credit card but then refund £2.50

Ive got a P910i i had endless trials to get Agile messenger 3 working, finally today i have.Im on a vodafone contract,i went into the vodafone shop asked for my content control to be lifted,i thought thats it well it wasnt, you still need to do this, because vodafones content control policy blocks the ports that agile messenger uses, well so im told. This is what i did for my phone: ControlPanel,Internet Accounts, tap new, type in a account name for agile to use,eg Agile Messenger tap advanced,in the address bar type internet.Fire up agile using the just setup account.Thats it! Well its work for me anyway, you just got to make sure that you connect using that account.Push talk is great! hope ive helped some of you. This is my first post so be gentel.
