> Backing up data help?
Bookmark topic
In an effort to free space and start from scratch, I'm considering what I gather is called a hard system reset.
Of course, I suppose this will mean I will lose a lot of important data, which obviously concerns me greatly.
First question -- how do I perform this reset?
Second question -- Will all my network settings be restored properly or will the device go back to some network-agnostic factory setting? I'm with Orange (UK) and I understand the device runs on an Orange-specific version of the firmware - perhaps it would be restored to this version, complete with settings? If not, what do I do?
Third (main) question -- I now have a Mac. How on earth am I going to back up the data I want to keep (contacts and dates should be okay, fingers crossed). I'm thinking... SMS/MMS Messages, Jotter notes, *Handy Safe* data, *Projekt* data? I don't understand the P900's file structure at the best of times, nor do I understand how to transfer files between the device and my Mac or how to (re-)install those programs from my Mac, so... ??
Thank-you

Using a Mac here too, and very happy with it.
First of all, don't do any resets or anything to claim space. There are other easier ways of doing it.
Are you using iSync? If so, you've gone a long way! I'll try and do a little research on how to better approach this.
Give me till tomorrow morning.

I've tried various methods, but the internal storage is still touching 93% and the external 61%. I've cleaned many things off the device and I don't see what else to try other than starting from scratch. If you have some suggestions on other options, I'd love to learn more, though.

Yes. Initially, I was having *mega* problems getting my P900 and Mac to talk with iSync or even to talk to each other at all. These two devices don't work well together. Seems okay at the moment, though I still only cross my fingers that my next sync using iSync will work successfully.
Happy to learn all your Mac/P900 tips plus the stuff I raised in my post.
Thank-you
