> Any one else feel short changed with the S700

I have had the S700 for a couple days now I paid £100 for the phone plus £75 a month on line rental. And the phone though beautiful the novelty value for me has worn off, and the phone is way to chunky considering the K700 is at least 5mm thinner! It’s just a k700 with 1.3mp cam and a better screen and a duo slot (which is no use to me as I have a p910i for media use and the video playback is rubbish on a S700). I personally don’t feel the S700 is worth it, even though I am a gadget freak this is one of those times where I really don’t think the price justifies the purchase.
I know many people assume there will be a price drop I can’t see it being a significant one SE released this as a top end phone hence the £500 price tag to keep some exclusivity, so I reckon the pricing structure will remain akin to p900 and other handsets which natively retail north of the £500 mark.
I don’t know weather or not to take mine back and get something else as my 2nd phone maybe a V3?

I am very happy with my S700. I do agree that it is very expensive for what you get. I am a bit annoyed that
didnt even include a sync station. You pay abouth the same as you would pay for a P910 and dont even get a sync station.

is deffo a bit steep and they still charged you £100 for the hadnset
what a rip off
if you're not happy with it i'd say return it
wait for the next phone to come along

Yes i know, I just wanted to know how other people felt, i find it hard to believe any one can justify the cost of the phone and i wanted to know the reasons they were using to hold on to theire dignity, maybe i might be convinced to keep it...Or maybe others share my view?

I find that SE is exaggerating their policy of introducing at very high prices and letting them go down so quickly. It has become an excuse for high prices in itself.
'Ouch, that phone is expensive'
'No, you just have to wait a few weeks'
This trick won't last very much longer, nobody believes that the introduction price is the real value.

yes but the value of past phones like K700 and Z600 and T630 have not been released at 500 pounds, whenever a phone has been released for 500 it has kept its price for some time with SE the typical example being the Pseries phone, P900 has only just gone to 450 and thats after a year.
SE are getting lazy just like nokia did and releasing rehashes of current phones in a different body....just hope they still know how to keep it fresh.
Eg
At the moment
P900 > P910
T610 > T630
K700 > S700
In the past
T28 > T68
R250 > P800
P800 > P900

Surely you had a brief look al the spec of the phone,prior to parting with your cash?it was evident from the offset,that the s7 was just a whizzing whazzing version of the k7,with expandeable memory!
