Hello,
this is Peter from Switzerland and this is my first post in this really great forum.
I have recently bought two P900 including SE fighter and am very happy - there is only one thing: When I got the P900 in my car holder and it's getting charged there, I would like the display light to come on, but the only way I have found let it do this is to switch the light permamently on, regardless if it is beeing charged or not - not too nice to the battery... .
Of course I have browsed this forum, but it seems that usually the problem seems to be that users want the light to be turned off for several reasons, but I need it just the other round
The phone does not detect it is in the car holder now, so the light setting for the car mode shows no effect at all, whine...
Any idea how I could let the phone switch the light on when it is either charged or is there maybe a little trick to connect two pins of the connector to 'simulate' car operation? I have done that with my Nokia's when I was a Nokia user , yes, shame one me, I WAS a Nokia user
I have also tried the pretty go Magic profile pro, where you can virtually store anything in a profile, but guess what ist not be found? The light setting, of course...
Well, any help is highly welcome...
Cheers
Peter

is it a proper car kit or just a holder ..if its the proper car kit then there is a setting ...control panel/display/power then select light (car) to on ...

Hi,
I've been wondering the same thing, but i have only the hch37?
car holder and not the full install car kit, due to me being fussy about what gets connected into the wiring.
Im thinking it must be possible to remove the small connector plug on the holder and open it up to reconfigure the connections inside to maybe 'fool' the phone into thinking it's in a full car kit.
Anyone done this before???
Will try it on the wifes p800, before putting my phone in it though.

I've got the same problem, I've also only got the car holder and my P800 thinks it's on handsfree, even though I've got a car-charger attached (I think it's the contact between the two plastic bits (between the charger pins and the handsfree pins)). I was thinking of a way to 'cheat' my phone by fixing an extra contact, but haven't got round to trying that yet. I've also got the CSS-20 desk speaker stand, which gets recognized as a car-kit and the light remains on. Shame it can't be fixed in Magic Profiles, will make a suggestion to Symbianwave, maybe they can implement it in a future release.
