Hi there, I just upgraded to p910i from singlepoint (on vodafone contract), and I asked whether it is sim free and vodafone live free (vodafone live changes some phone's menu, very annoying!), and they told me it is sim free. I recieved the phone last friday, and realised it has vodafone start up animation, however, menu looks normal, but it was not sim free. I told them that I would like to return the phone and cancel the contract, which I can do within 14 days. So at the end they gave me a NCK code to unblock it, so it is sim free now. However, the vodafone start up animation is still there...is there any way I can change it to the original sony ericsson start up? Also, apart from the start up animation, are there any differences than other p910? I am thinking to cancel it and buy it from carphonewarehouse...
Many thanks for your help!

Sounds like your last idea was your best!

You now have an unlocked, yet still Voda-branded, Voda-firmware P910i. If you want a generic SonyEricsson version (the way mama used to make ) then you need to buy it from CPW (I would say that!)

You cannot change your firmware to unbranded firmware, as the Update Service recognises your IMEI as being a Voda variant.

Well, i have to pay 200 pounds for the phone, and they only offered me 2 months free line rental, which worths 60 pounds. However, I have contacted Singlepoint and told them abt the branded problem, and I will return the phone tomorrow. I have also contacted carphonewarehouse tel sale. What I need is a PAC code now, which Singlepoint said will give to me when they recieve the return phone. Hopefully I will have the phone from carphonewarehouse by next week...
I am going to sign up with O2, from CPW, is it definitely sim free and unbranded?
