For those of you who have been frustrated by the fact that your P800/P900 does not work with the BMW carkit. May like to know that the P910i does FINALLY work with it perfectly. I was able to make a recieve calls from the bluetooth carkit. So now I think it was worth upgrading my P900 to P910.

Any questions about it, please just say!

do SMS & phonebook transfer work aswell?

I will upgrade to a P910 if it works, my P900 doesn't work in my M3 with BT, my T610 does

well, actually I got 2 M3s
a manual gearbox one (without bluetooth, 2001 model) and an SMG one (with bluetooth, 2003 model, but P800 or P900 didn't work with it, so I had to buy a T610 just for the car (T610 does support phonebook & SMS on the Satnav TFT screen), but 2 mobiles with 1 number is way too annoying (since it always rings on the wrong phone!), so if a P910 works 100% with the BMW, I can sell off my P900 and T610 at the same time)

The phone book has not transfered over, however when I used my T68i and T610, they never transfered over either. Is there something that you need to do, or does it do it automatically?

my T610 phonebook is transferred when you connect to the M3 after pairing, switching off BT (but BMW still on) and switching on again BT on T610, then it should start in background transferring
once this transfer has happened, the BMW will store the numbers internally.
So play around a bit with connecting manually to the BMW after pairing was successful. At least it helped with my T610...

and what about SMS?

since today I have the P910, and indeed the phonebook gets transferred to the BMW correctly, but after about 10s the phonebook disappears from the BMW screen and PHONE BOOK EMPTY is displayed... only repairing it will make it appear again, but after successful pairing it disappears again...?

Seems like the file transfer protocol of the P910 transfers as last item some invalid thing causing the BMW to reject the lot, thus wiping the phonebook

I'll write SE, this seems like a silly bug in their BT object push or FTP protocol, not BMW's fault

I would be curious to see the actual BT data sent over, and compare the EOF string of the P910 with the T610
