Hi guys... got my K700i for 2 whopping days now! And I love it!
There is one minor thing though... how do I manually tell the K700i to pickup reception on the 900Mhz band?
Right now it is on auto (I am in Ontario, Canada by the way using Fido's 900/1800/1900 Network) and I'm getting no reception indoors whereas my old Nokia 3390 used to get 3/4 or higher reception! Does it automatically pickup on the 900Mhz or it is doing the 1900Mhz 'international' phone thing?

The phone choose automatically the best network. I think I never saw my K700 under the 5 bars

Have you attempted to manually select newtork yet? Does it scan all bands when searching? It should, shouldn't it? That way you should be able to select one of tow different fido networks, if what you say is correct and they actually use both bands at one location.

When you manually select the network the phone looks for all the networks and the strongest signal AFAIK but I could be wrong of course

As for your problem... Fido is useless outside of the heart of downtown Toronto (my own opinion). Unfortunately for us Canucks, they are the only ones who offer 900mhz support in Canada.
Sell the K700 on eBay, buy a T637 and use Rogers... I hate typing that but full bars all over Canada means you won't just look pretty with a phone but also have one that works.
Come on SE... (even though it isn't gonna happen)... how about a K700 with 850mhz?

AFAIK you cannot know what came you are on. It selects the band that it first encounters. Imo, it searches thru all the bands and not the last selected band
