Turn of the voice recording, so you don't hear it when you are in the phonebook?
But I still want to be able to use voice command.

in a quiet situation everyone can hear you are flipping through your phone book.... No fix I think....

When you scroll through your phonebook with the volume key on the side the voices shouldn't be active! I did not try it but if it is possible for scrolling through the melodies it should work for the phonebook too!

let me bump up this thread a bit, since i still have that same problem. it's not so much the repeating of the voice command that's annoying, it's the 1-second lockup while the sound is loaded before it's played that prefents a smooth scroll through the phonebook.
any news`i'm on r7b something, so pretty up-to-date.

There is no way to disable it. They sort of fixed this on T610 since you will actually have to stop on the contact before the phone speaks the voictag.
