> O2 vs Vodafone Signal Strength in London
Bookmark topic
Hi
Does anyone know how O2's signal strength compares with Vodafones in the London area? I know they operate at similar frequencies but I wanted to be sure that if I bought an O2 phone, I wouldnt be having to deal with an inferior signal!
cheers

O2's signal is no where near as strong as Vodafone's in London

try this:
Go to a phone shop (not vodafone or o2) like belcompany or phonehouse whatever shop that sells o2 and vodafone. Let them switch on 2 equal phones, one with o2 sim and the other with a vodafone sim, compair the signal inside the shop and then outside. Do this in a x number of shops in Londen. this way you get an acurate view of the signal strenght

where exactly in london, its a big place you know!
the signal varies all over the place, one place might be great on voda but crap on o2 and vice versa.

Yes, I know it's big - I grew up / live there!
Specifically east-london (canary wharf), north london and central london I guess

That's why I said in an x number of shops. Of course you only need it to test around the places in KLondon where you regulary expect to use your cellphone

I work in a basement office in Liverpool Street.
I've just changed from Voda to o2 and I can tell you o2 wins here hands down.
I had trouble just to get a signal but looking at my phone now with o2 I have full bars.
Have never in my 2 months with them had trouble getting a signal (apart from the tube).
