hi there guys...just a quick poll to see what encoder you guys are using to get the best out of your phone for full length movies???...
at the mo and until proven otherwise...i'd be plumping for virtualdub and pv author giving me a proper wicked 3gp file!!!

oh my god thats a realy hard one - ummm wait no- umm uuuuu yeh its goto be AVI - in my oppinion 3gp is to be honest - bad at best- MP4 just for fun realy no quality there unless you mess for hrs- and AVI realy realy goodi encode all mine as AVI

Yes, I do have those problems.
But I don't think it is AVI or Smartmovie that does it. I use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD, then I use DVDx to encode it in MPEG. I think DVDx is causing me the problems. I have had good luck with it in the past, but I messed around with the settings and now I get the problem you are describing.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

I think it also depends on the device your using,i have a windows ce based phone(SPV C-500) which run mp4 very smooth in high quality.i use a pc to convert most avi-mpeg to mp4.avi works fine to but consumes more storage space :-(
