I am looking to buy either a UIQ device or a PocketPC for the organizer and browser functionality. I know the two are about equal on the WAP browser front. I haven't been able to find a comprehensive review on the P910 or P900, just comparisons to the previous models. I have been able to pick up a P900, but haven't been able to play with one yet.
I need an honest opinion, are the Calendar and Task functions even close to as good and functional as they are on PocketPC's or Palm devices?

Well, tasks are in my opinion as good as Palm or PPC. Calendar is a bit of a disappointment though, you cannot have recurring all-day-events (Birthdays anniversaries etc.), you have to convert them to 00:00-23:59 appointments to make them recur. You can not create long appointments in your phone spanning from let's say Tuesday 08:00 till Friday 12:00, only in Outlook or your Desktop PIM of choice. (At least I haven't figured out how, is it possible?)
However, I still love my P910...

Yeah, I also would suggest getting the p910 over ANY pocket PC except that new HP iPaq one, the one with mobile phone functionality. Besides, If you don't like the built in calendar, then just get another software program with your requirements.
The only reason I would suggest that new HP model is that it has WiFi, and I like having fun by finding WiFi hotspots and using the net 4 free. (I'm sad that way)

@Andlil thanks for the reply.
If I create all these all day events in Outlook and sync them to the phone will they show up? And will they recur if I set recurrance in Outlook?
And can the contacts hold more info than my t610?
Edit: @Nick, the fact that I would only have to carry one device is highly attractive to me. But if the one device can't effectively replace both, I'd rather have both devices. And as a tech junkie, I too think WiFi would be cool, but I don't know if I'd really use it.

The contacts definitely hold more than the t610. But as for the re-currin events thing, I can only assume so. It worked on my old p800 if that helps....

Thanks, I was leaning toward an ipaq, but if the

works well, or can be made to work well, I think thats the device I want.

For what it's worth, I just replaced an iPAQ 5550, a Blackberry 7230 and a SE Z600 with a P910i and the SE works very well as a stand alone device, sync'd with Outlook. I have all my Outlook contacts in the P910 (1100 plus) and the calendar functions are OK (not as good as Pocket Informant on the iPaq but much better than BB) altho I am yet to decide on a week view add on (Filofax week view format).
The only major downside for me so far is the short batter life of the P910 but I may have a defective handset - still trying to figure that out.

@Knight4led
Yup, I changed all my birthdays etc to 00:00-23:59 appointments and set recurring on them, all of them got synced to my phone.
Contacts hold name, two addresses, e-mail, multiple phone nos etc etc

@nickorooster
Do you know of any software that will handle long-spanning appointments?

Thanks for the help. This all sounds so convincing.
Entering new info/appointments on the fly is just as easy as a PPC I would hope. If I could just find somebody/some place that would let me play with one...
