Hey I’ve been searching around but I’m still undecided so hopefully u guys can offer some help. I need to get a new phone, and I’ve been waiting for some time to find “the one” but I can’t decide. I currently have a P800, and I love it, but I think I want to get something new. I’ve been waiting for the S700 to come out, and I must say it is a damn cool phone but I don’t know if it’s worth the money. Price isn’t too much of an issue, I’ll buy an expensive phone if I think it’s worth it but damn, at least in the US right now, the S700 just costs too much. Same with the P900, it’s awesome but I’d just be paying for more than what I really want/need. These are the features that I think are most important (in order of importance):

Data/internet/e-mail
MP3/WAV Ringtones
Decent battery life
Bluetooth
Good User Interface
Camera (doesn’t need to be MP, video not important)
Connection to PC (file transfer for ringtones/wallpapers)

And I think that’s about it, of course that doesn’t rule out a lot of phones. These are the phones I’ve been looking at and their pros and cons respectively:

K700/S700 – Sweet little phones but I’m not sure if I really need all the features that they offer. I don’t need a 1.3MP camera. I’m sure I’d be willing to get either one if I signed up for a plan but so far that just isn’t an option in the US (because the US phone market sucks my butt). Should I wait until the US versions come out?

P900 – Awesome but I think I want a really cool phone-phone instead of a PDA-phone. I love my p800 but I think it would be better if I got a separate PDA to use occasionally rather than have it built into a daily-use phone that I carry in my pocket.

Moto V80 – Now this phone is sexy. I think the only thing I don’t like is there’s no external memory card but I think I could probably live without it. There isn’t a whole lot out there on this phone but I’ve heard good things. I have AT&T Wireless so I wasn’t sure if it would work since it is 900/1800/1900 but I just looked at my p800 and it is 900/1800/1900 also and it works great. The E398 also looks pretty nice, does have a memory card and it’s not very expensive at all!

(I know, I know, I should stick with .... flame away )

I’m not crazy about Nokias. Enough said If someone opens my eyes to a really cool one I might consider it.

I’m gonna stop before I write any more. Can anyone who’s recently shopped for phones offer me some advice?

my american friend honestly i would go for the se K700i because as we all no it its awaresome fone as well all no that, and people say and complain about the battery issue on the k700i which i believe its good to be honestly, and although i am a very heavy user i roughly use 2 hrs talktime and the fone lasts me more than 24 hrs, i mean the battery aint dead until the battery meter really goes down until you cant see it then the alarm will come up saying battery is low, and second of about a pda check these links,

If you need a no frills proven and mature phone I would suggest the ATT T637. OK that puts you out of the MP3/WAV ringtones, but you get polyphonic ones you can download anything you want and it sounds great. A T637 and a good PDA might fit your bill. The upgrade to that would be a K700i and a PDA. Or if you want to ditch the PDA and go for a P910 that is sweet.
Another direction you could go is the new IPAQ HP6315 from T-mobile. A quadband pocket pc mobile edition 2003 with wifi. See hp.com or t-mobile.com for details. If you like that type of device.

The thing is I'm kind of tired of carrying around my P-series every day because I don't use the PDA functions that much. I could actually get a Treo 600 or many other cool PDA/phones for really cheap (probably like $250) but I've decided that it's just to much for my needs (I'm actually considering getting one and selling it to fund my phone purchase ) (*Disclaimer* I can obtain and sell it legally of course). I looked at the T637 but notice that the ringtones were high on my list I really love customizing my phone and being able to use WAVs as ring tones has been one of my favorite features of the P800. The K700 is actually looking better and better, I've never been crazy about the way it looks but it is a sweet phone. Anyone else have any other ideas?

IMO if you don't want to have a PDA/phone like P9XX, just go for the K700, it isn't expensive and have all the features you want. I know S700 is amazing but price is way too high, so I would pick the K700, it offers a great camera, video, MP3, radio and isn't oversized as the P9XX.

If all the specs you've posted is what you are after and if price is of no issue to you, definitely go for the SE S700 mate, if you have some doubts 'bout it, then go for the SE K700/i dude!
