Hi!
I think I've discovered yet another bug in the Z1010 (R1G007) that I'd like to know if anyone else noticed ...
If you copy a ring tone with the same name as one of the protected files (like "Sony Ericsson.mid" or "Greeting.mid") to the phone, the PROTECTED file will be renamed - it'll get a "_(1)" suffixed to its name. This, I guess, can be repeated infinitely (I wonder what happens if you repeat it enough times so as to exceed the maximum allowed file name length ... maybe you can crash the phone?). I now have a protected file called "Sony Ericsson_(1)_(1)_(1).mid", which kind of sucks, as it isn't fixed by master resetting the phone ...
(ps. The copying issue could be Bluetooth-only ... haven't tried it with the usb-cable).
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? I'm guessing I'll have to wait for a new FW version and then get a complete reflash at a service point.
I also have a question for other fellow Z1010 users ... in the ring tone selection menu, can you also only see the files on the phone and not the ones on the memory stick ... I think I used to be able to see them too when I had an earlier firmware version?
Cheers,
voxigen.
