alright guys...after much research and painstaking testing i think i'm close to nailing the quality i want for full length movie files that fit neatly onto a 128mb duo stick...

so, i'd appreciate you checking out my work (7 min clip of shaun of the dead) at...

http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/P910iSmartMovies/files/

i've used virualdub so if u could all test it on your px00's and give me some feedback as to how good you feel the actual level of quality is i'd be grateful, as i've nothing really to bechmark it against!

my new yahoo group has two .avi files (SmartMovie) as u can only upload files that are 5mb so its in two bits...try both and let me know how it was for you?!?!

ta much...

Quality is very good sound & picture. Notice some blockiness in fast pan sections which I didn't notice when I did a short clip from Revenge of the Jedi and that was in ful P910i screen size 320x208.

Lip sync is totally different to clip I did but maybe you have to alter setting in smartmovie for each clip.

What settings you use?

I use DVDShrink to copy a DVD to my HDD
Rip movie using DVDx and latest DivX codec in a Pan & Scan 320x208 avi file the put through smartmovie at 192kbps for image & 80kbps for sound.

DVDx should do it without need for smartmovie but selecting 12fps still gives me jumping audio so I still process through smartmovie to finish.
