I drove crazy with that code many ppl. I asked to let me check sg in the fone ane excused a bit later to pushed the wrong button and accidently locked the sim.

As said before; It's good to heve remonders from time to time.
I'd actually forgotten the EMEI code after getting the P800 and now the P910. I used to use the menu feartures to find the EMEI on those.

I used to have so much fun with that code back in the "good old days"!
I nearly got in to troubble in a night club in Turkey doing that trick on a German's T39. It cost me a beer to calm the bugger down!
