Hi All,
I have just bought a pre-owned p800 that is locked to the T-Mobile network, but after putting my virgin sim i it, it seems to be functioning quite happily now.
As this is the case, does anyone think there is a need to get it unlocked if its working? or should i just be greatful i dont have to spend £20 to get it unlocked!
Regards

welcome to Esato!
just go into the service menu (see
here for how to do that) and check the SIM locks there.
If all the padlocks are open then your phone is definitly unlocked and therefore no need to get it unlocked
edit: although from your description it does sound like its unlocked anyway, but thats the way to tell for sure

Hi and thanks for the welcome!
Your help was much appreciated...and i did see all the padlocks were indeed open! so thats extra cool, as it means i bought it off Ebay and got a bargain for this then. Thank goodness for technophobic people selling them and not realising!! Woohoo!

NOTE: Virgin SIMs will work on T-Mobile, as they use the same towers etc, (I'm not sure what else they share, but that's the reason why they work.) Or at least that's my understanding. I think it's the same the other way around, as in, you can use a T-mobile sim on a Virgin Locked phone.
Hope this helps...
