Hey guys,
This may sound silly but is there a way to play the radio on the S700i without using the handsfree kit, so it kind of just plays on the phone rather than through the headphones?

You can make it play on the phone speaker, but you still need to have the earphones plugged in, since the wire forms the aerial.

Yeah, apotts is right.
You have to have the headset attached as it acts as the antennae to pick up the radio signal.
Once started through the headset press 'More' then 'Activate Speaker'

Yeha in case you dont believe us try doing this: put the radio through the speaker (not the head phones) and max volume. Tune a good quality station, and then unplug the headphones. For a momment, like half a second .. you can hear that you actually loose the signal and only hear noise. Then the software disconnects it and says you need the wire as it works as the antenna.

I think it's a good thing that it doesn't work without the antennae. Can you imagine the number of people that would go round slagging the phones off saying how shit the reception is on the radio!
