I have a few questions concerning the S700. I hope someone can help me out here.

1. Is it possible to take video clips on the phone using the camera and save them onto the memory card so they can then be put on a PC with a memory card reader?

2. Kinda related. Is it possible to have a video clip on the PC that is a compatible format with the S700. Put the clip onto a memory card and then import that video clip into an MMS message and send it to some friends?

A sub-question from number 2:

2a: What happens if the video clip is bigger in size or resolution than what MMS can take? Does it reduce it, reject it or just upload the video clip to a web page and send a text message with a link to it?

Thanks in advance

Yes, but the resolution is so small I doubt they'd be of any use in a PC.

Yes, but it would have to be the right format for the phone, and MMS at the moment can only send up to 100kb (Well, o2 at least, not sure about the other providers )

I'm not sure but I don't think it will send, I think it will just reject it (Speaking from past experiance, only from o2 though )

Couple of video related q's:

1. Has anyone had any probs playing video clips (mp4, 3gp etc) that have been transferred onto the s700, or does it seem to handle this quite well?

2. Does anyone know which file types for video clips the s700 is capable of playing? (for instance will it play mpeg or other types?)

3. What is the maximum clip length you can record using the phones video recorder? (if anyone could post a short clip of a recording done on the s700 that would be great - or a link to where there is one already?)

cheers

Don't have one so can't comment on this, sorry

If it's the same as the P900 it shouldn't have a problem playing Mp4's People say the s700 is just a bigger k700 and that can play mp4's so I guess so

When I was having a demo of the s700 for my girlfriend at phones4U the video quality was awful - worse than my P900's (And that's bad ) But the image quality was amazing

Pictures > Great

Video > Horrible

Hope this helps (as it looks like no-one else on this board will)

Thanks mate.

I just found this newly announced BenQ phone (interestingly also named the S700!) on another website -

http://global.benq.com/wm/fro[....]&DataID=12531&RootId=undefined

it looks like everything the SE S700 should have been: same 1.3MP cam, decent vid recording, full screen playback and up to 1Gb mem using SD card. (ok no bluetooth but i'll live with that!)

Has anyone heard of BenQ or know if there phones are available in the UK? Seems to have everything i wanted from the SE S700.

WHAT?!!!!!

Surely they can't use the same name????

ALSO that BenQ is EXACTLY the same as the O2 X3...........

so NO it's not everything the (real) s700 should have been
