Hi and hello from Austria!
I bought a Z1010 a week ago and I'm really pleased with the features and quality. I was wondering how to get the newest Firmware, mine is R1C002. I heard that the new R1G has the animated icons like the K700i. What other bugfixes and features does this update have?
I wanted to update it, but here in Austria it's not easy to find a SonyEricsson Partner in Town. We have a shop called PS Tec, which repair the mobilphones of SE, Nokia, Samsung aso. - they have the newest software for the Z1010. I visited their store yesterday and after 2 hours they told me they couldn't flash it because of problems with the flash-devise or the phone. They couldn't say for sure why it didn't work.
So what can I do to get the new firmware? What is the problem, that makes an update so difficult?

i think you can upgrade it by you're self !!! all you need is ..
the sync station .. ( P900 (( only P900 NOT p800)) DSS 25)
you can buy it on eBay .. for 25 quidds
( & it also depend on SE coz you need the net web falshing service ... page ...... BUT if you have the sotware on you're computer you can do it )

latest FW for the z1010 is
R1H015, got it yesterday when i updated my phone at a SE servicepoint.
have discovered some new icons in the menus, and also at least one new function, a 'Tasks' function under the Organizer... (where u fast can save a task and get the phone to remind you of it, or fast save a phone number)
