How do.

Congrats on the site to the Founder/Admin very impressive information and set up!

I'm due to recieve my K700i in the next day or so after spending about three days looking round and reading reviews, it is only until after I've ordered the phone I found this site.

I'm looking forward to owning it, however...

I am very concerned I've let myself in for frustrating time understanding and setting up this firmware upgrade I've been reading about?!?!?! I've found all the FAQ's and once I've got the phone I'll find out what version its on and then do the necessary. Just hope its straight forward. Not too impressed I've got to pay another £30 for this docking station to do the up-grade... is there any other way other than buying it?

I have bought the phone on Pay as you Go from Orange for £179.00 which I'm really pleased about. Plus I get for 6 months 500 free texts on weekends, bonus!

So just to say hello to you all and I'm more than positive I'll find the site very useful!

Jim

Use the phone for a few weeks, then take it to SE do free upgrade. Dont try the upgrade unless you know what you are doing. This message was posted from a T230

Glad to have you here - Jim! Just always remember that upgrading the firmware to R2L . . . has some cons as well, I guess you manage to read it on various threads here! If you think the stock R2A firmware will satisfy your needs for the fone, then just let it run that way for sometime . . . as a new firmware upgrade might be in the offing - soon !

Thanks for the welcome people

I've actually phoned up Caudwells Phone repairs, which are very close to me in Staffordshire and they are able to do the up-grade while I wait for free.

I cant say I've seen any disadvantages for having the up-grade, could you please let me know some of the main ones? would really appreciate that.

Hope to have the phone tomorrow morning.

Cheers

Jim
