Hi all!

I don't want the phone to be branded. I hate that and also hate the way the phone has got customised buttons and startups. This will be my firs PXXX phone, so I am excited. I am a long time Orange customer so I can get a good deal through them (by phone) BUT I am worried how messed up the phone will be. I can also pay (a lot) for moving to Voda, and pay for the phone interest free. But this is through the Voda shop, who say it's unbranded, but I don't think it is. And then there's O2, anyone got info on this network? Help much appreciated.

Vodafone DO have unbranded phones, but you really have to be sure. Test it before you agree to buying it.

Hi
Just to say (again) that yesterday I searched the Gnutella network (using BearShare) for P900 and found references to software/cracks that remove branding from SE P900.
Didn't download because I don't need it, but maybe you can take a look at those and see if they are for real?
Maybe they'll work with the P910.

Even if you do get a branded phone, it isnt that hard to sort out, flash it with the latest firmware, that should do the trick.

Orange branding on the P900 wasn't that bad, so I doubt they will screw up the 910i that badly, but I should find out tomorrow!

If you want an unlocked version on Voda, buy from CPW. All their 910i's are unlocked, I promise

Unbranding isn't straight forward. DIY software hacks will not work. Go into CPW and ask them to flash it to the latest firmware.

BTW, the problem with the branded phones is that they cann't use the online Sony Ericsson service to update your phone, which sucks.

Bought my p900 from o2 last year- it was unlocked but O2 branded.

Hope this helps

My P910i is from e2save on O2 and it's completely unbranded and of course unlocked (I think they call it 'GSM stock').
It also has a dodgy battery meter but that's another matter.

CPW own e2save, and all their O2 and Voda stock is generic/unlocked/GSM or whatever you call it.

@missuk

why don't you get the batt replaced?
