So, how will it be all then when SE realeases some firmware upgrades online for the S700i, just like what recently happened to the K700/i model, wherein you can upgrade online using a DSS-20 or a DSS-25 ?

If you want to upgrade the firmware on a K700i or S700i then you have to but a DSS20 or 25 unless you already have one from a Pxx0 like I do.

And I just thought back there that this thing (DSS 20-25) are the cradles too

Jojo they are indeed the cradles but the cradles are not included in the box, so if one wishes to upgrade the firmware online of the phone after purchasing it, one would have to buy a separate cradle to do so.
Bit of a bummer,
should have included it.
