Hi Guys,
Is there a way I can delete protected files on my phone (K700i)?
The vendor (Vodacom SouthAfrica) put some logos and pictures in the pictures library and I really want to delete it.
Thanks
Dvir

That is part of the branding.
You can remove that by putting a de-branded firmware into it, but as being it a relatively new model, there is not public software to do it without paying.
If you really want to de-brand the handy, get a T28 unlock cable and use MultiServer. You'll need two logs to de-brand it. Logs are like "credits" that you need to buy to use certain features in MultiServer.

It's weard cause I just copied other picture on the one that is protected.
It automatically changed the name of the protected to be *_(1) and now the phone is using my file as the shutdown screen ... Now the branding is really just about keeping some pictures protected in the phone memory.... And it's just anoying but nothing else...
Any ideas like special code or anything that will get to delete these files without any costs?
Thanks,
Dvir

I have the same problem. Cept mine is already unlocked, but i over wrote some protected files and now has an extention "_(1)". Is there a way to rename them back to the original? It's super annoying. Especially since I live in Canada so the K700i isn't even here so none of the Ericsson service centers will even service it. Help is seriosuly needed.

have you tried doing a master reset?
a master reset reverts your phone to the way it was when it came out of box.
BEWARE A MASTER RESET DELETES ALL PICS, SOUNDS AND SETTINGS!!!!!
something that used to work to delete these "predefined" items on older models was the 13 second trick, do a search for all the info on that.
BEWARE I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE 13 SECOND TRICK WILL AFFECT A K700 OR IF IT WORKS AT ALL. ITS YOUR CHOICE!!

The 13 second trick info:

NOTE: This is untested on a K700i. The last phone I tested it on was a t68. If anyone is brave enough to try this I would love to hear how you get on so I can either recommend it or steer everyone away from it!

Neither the master reset nor the 13 sec trick would work since I've tried both and they failed. Neither would running a recovery mode using SEUS. My Sony Ericsson.gif has gone as far as Sony Ericsson_(1)_(1)_(2)_(3)_(4).gif and that's the furthest I can get!
