> Cell Phone as a modem (incoming)
Bookmark topic
I really need help here. Does anyone know of any phones that support incoming modem connection. It seems like almost all support dialing out and connectnig but I need to find one that will connect to a PC through a data cable, can answer an INCOMING call, start negotiating, and connect.
Basically be used just like a basic modem, but more interested on the answering feature rather than being able to call out.
Thanks.

I think they all do. The issue is YOUR wireless provider has to support it. Basically you will be given a different number for incoming data calls.

Well, that is odd, because I called Cingular and they said it was a hardware issue. I called Nokia and they said they don't support incoming calls.. I just keep going around in circles here.

On SE phones, under call forward menu, you can set up different forward criteria for data, fax and voice calls. That tells you the phone accepts incoming data calls, doesn't it?
Perhpas this guy can help you out.

Change to a SE mobile and put your Nokia in the Recycle bin that will solve all your problems
