Hi,

currently have the P800 and for £200 i can upgrade to the P800.

Now that is a LOT of money for pretty much identical phone in a different 'shell' which to me is what it comes down to...

So what else am i paying for... i do love the P800 so would love the P910 i'm sure of that....

any bad points you there might be ?

Oh and is the screen identical in size, as i bought a few of those martin field screen protectors, is it the same size ?

thanks

To be honest mate, since you obviously haven't looked at the spec of the 910i (if you think it's a P800 in a different shell), I would suggest you either read a bit about in any of the hundred of threads here or keep your money in your pocket.

But yes, it is worth it. I have a P900 and I'm wasting a hundred quid just because I want the keyboard and the memory (both internal and storage capabilities).

I concur, you should do more homework on the features of the P910. For exmaple, the PDF and Quickoffice apps on the P910 would normally cost about $60+. Also, you may wish to think about your requirements. For example, if want to use Wayfinder + a BT headset then the multi-link BT of the P910 would be better than the single link BT on the P800. Also, if you want to store lots of MP3s/OGG file on your smartphone then again the Duo Pro support of the P910 would be better than the P800. And finally, if you like browsing the web with Opera then again the 32MB of RAM of the P910 would mean your machine will not run out of RAM. Also if you prefer the in-built web browser over Opera, in the P910 the in-built browser has Small Screen Rendering and jog dial conrtol (so you don't need to use the stylus), again these features are not available in the P800 (and I have not even mentioned the wonderful keypad of the P910 which I use all the time for emails and SMS).

Well, enjoy your research!

hee hee yeah thanks.... have looked a few of the threads already...

oh one thing about the keyboard, how easy is it to type on it ?

and it looks a bit flimsy, can you use both your thumbs whilst typing, will the pad 'snap' off ?

@snow-munki

Keypad is easy to use and is not flimsy - why don't you visit a mobile/cell phone shop and look at the product?

You will only realise how out of date the P800 is when you get a P900 or P910. The screens are the same size but the P8s is laughable when seen next to either of the new ones!
The jump from P900 to P910 is small especially as you can get the new firmware but from P800 the jump is huge!
I also think 200 is a good price at the moment especially if you're gonna continue the contract anyway.

I wouldn't recommend holding the phone by the keyboard, so to speak, but if you support the phone with your hands and use the board with your thumbs (as it was intended), I'm pretty sure it's a faster way of inputting than either the stylus or virtual keyboard, and once you get used to it, probably quicker than the good old numerical-flip as well!

P800 to P910i would be a very smart move, considering the extra functionality thats included. the fact of the matter is that the latest model is far superior to the now dated P800. This message was posted from a WAP device

I got my P910 today, and am very pleased with the improvements over my P800.

The screen is beautiful.

and yeah i tried to see it in person and last week went into 3 separate phone shops in town and none had any, not even dummy phones !!

can't wait !!
