I've noticed there is a led (tiny lamp) at the same place as the power button. It sometimes blinks, sometimes not. First i thought it was because of low battery. But yesterday it blinked and vid battery was green. And om missed calls or messages received.
What is it? There is nothing about it in the manual.

My K700 LED on power button also blinks sometimes on the same cases.

It is supposed to flash with low battery and also comes on when you turn the phone off and put it on charge.
You can tast it in the service menu by pressing: >, *, <, <, *, <, * from the stanby screen, then choose LED/Illumination

It certainly should! It does on the K700 and S700.
You must do LED/ Illumination test not Flash LED (if the K500 even has a flash/photolight)

The LED's behind the keys are flashing, the display LED is blinking. But nothing on the top

Hmmm. You are definately doing the right test but I don't know why it doesn't flash. Perhaps anyone else with a K5 could see if theirs flash.
This test definately works on T68i, T610, T630, P800, P900, K700, S700 from my personal experience
