> P800 design sucks

Sorry guys,
I'm a die-hard SE fan. But I am really not pleased with the P800 design. Maybe it is a personal thingee but I do find the design too squarish and the flip just kill the whole thing. I am not against flip but this one just kill the overall look. Look like the T18 of old (which never catch on...)
Do you guys realise that Sony's design is very boxy (kinda fat). Look at the range of the new SE phones... very much in line with the Clie PDAs range.
I am a great supporter of the curve "x" factor of my T68. Sorry to see that SE will be dropping such a shape after the T68 era. To me, that is sad. I do look forward to the P800 (mp3 and memory stick now!) but the form factor is a draw back.
How I wish there would be a T68 with a 12 bit colour screen. That would be good enough for me (with my present assessories - Mp3 attachment and all that...)
Any views?

My views are pretty much the same on the 'looks' of the P800. I like the sleek and curvy look and not a box like look. Anyway I guess it all depends on what features it carries and how well they work.

When i went to cebit, the flip of the p800 was only a plastic one to protect the screen, the

guy removed it and then put it back to place very easily, when you remove the keypad a virtual one on the screen will apear, were you can either press it using you fingers or the plastic pen.
I Pesonally can't wait to own it. (P8

I have to agree. The new phones they are releasing are really damn boxy looking. What the hell happened?

SE sacked the Ericsson designer! That is what happened! I agree it is a bit boxy but can't wait to get my hands on it. KS

I think the P800 is a little bit too plastic. But i have not seen it IRL yet, so i might change my opinion when i have it in my hand.

It is comforting to hear from Fahed_2000 that the P800 has the option of keeping or dismantling the flip and yet keeping the full functionality of the phone.
I for one, if I own the P800, will definitely remove the flip. At least now there is a little more life.
I am not strongly against the boxiness in design; such as the T300, I think it is rather cool. But will DEFINITELY miss the sleek curvy design in the T68.
So, what do you guys think the rightful successor of the T68 is: P800 or the T300. Me think it is the latter (especailly where price is concerned). The P800 will probably cost a bomb (with so much drooling fit-in features. Thus, the T300 will probably be closer to heart to the existing T68i. A great dissappointment is that the latter is still 256 colour. What's wrong with you SE? We want 12-bit colour screen!!!

>Fahed_2000, and other that have tried the P800:
I agree on that the "plastic" keypad doesn't look good on the P800, but what about screen protection if/when you remove the flip keypad??
Isnīt the screen a touch sensitive one?? How to protect that without the flip?? (compare with R380 with flip open, then every touch on screen "causes" something...)
