I work through the week when the SE service centre is open and have just found out they close at weekend!

My problem is this ..

When you put the Se P910i on Screensaver / Device Lock the NumPad becomes active, I have been carrying it in the provided case and it has accidentally become locked. it must have seen the random NumPad presses as an attempt to enter the device without the correct number.

I phoned SE on 08705237237 and was told they do not have PUK2 codes for SE phones and it has to go to a service centre, this is F****** useless as it won't stop the device locking again. I travel abroad alot and it looks like I am going to have to go back to Vodafone and get a refund and cancel my contract. as I cannot afford this happening.

I never had this problem with my Nokia's you ring them and they give you the PUK2 code once they check your details ... SonyEricsson GET YOUR FINGER OUT this is a serious design flaw.

PUK2??? This is network related and not phone related. Like PUK1 gives access to the sim, PUK2 gives access to sim features supported on the network. VodaFone should be able to give the the PUK2 code.

My misunderstanding sorry,

I always thought the PUK code was for unblocking the Sim card code if you entered that incorrectly 3 times and that the PUK2 code was for unblocking the phone after you have entered the Device Locking Code incorrectly 3 times?

What is that code called then?

nop..

If you block PIN1 you need PUK1 for open it again.

If you block PIN2 you need PUK2 for open it again.

Pin1 is for getting access to the simcard.

Pin2 is for getting access to the special features at the simcard.

I previously always used Nokia and I was given a code (at my insistence) every time I bought new hardware, this code would unlock the phone if I (or someone else) had locked it trying to get in,

I am not talking about the Sim lock but the Device lock.

OK, I understand it is the Master Reset Code that I need now where would I get that from?

I'm not sure if P910i has the same code as P800...but the default master reset code is 0000

No you are misunderstanding me, that is not the Master Reset code but the default Device Lock Code,

The Master Reset Code is used to unlock the phone when the 0000 (or whatever you have replaced it with) is entered incorrectly 3 times.

@MadBob

The code you are required to enter for Master Reset IS the Device Lock code. Unless you have changed this, it is 0000.

It should be impossible to enter the Device Lock incorrectly so many times that the phone locks up.

I think you are still not getting it I don't wan't to perform a Master Reset, I want the Master Reset Code and unless SE phones are drastically different from Nokia the Device will Hardware Lock (not Sim lock) if you get the 0000 (or replaced code) wrong three times:

Quote:Master Reset Code

Sometimes known as the Master Code, this allows you to unlock a handset if you have entered the Security Code wrongly too many times. If you know you have forgotten the Security Code, entering the Master Reset Code instead will do (even though it is probably more digits). You should ask your Service Provider for this code when you need it.

Of course I could be completely wrong, but dare you try to input the Device Security Code wrongly three times to test this
