Maybe your GPRS or GSM timeout is set to 5mins thats y it disconnects after 5mins of idleness.Maybe a download is a state where the connection is idle.check it out in the control panel>internet connections (or wap connections, one of them, i cnt remember exactly)

The download limit on the o2 proxy is roughly 1.1mb, the only way round it is to use a download manager. Dunno if you get those for phones?

I've also noticed this download restriction on 3gp files, and mp3's via the o2 proxy.the files stop d/l between roughly 900kb and 1.2mb,but still install and play under the correct folders.

Dial up is different, you can go on for ever if you want(takes forever too), but on o2 payandgo gprs with the proxy, the limit is around 1.1mc. It's nothing to do with the phone either. Same happens when you use the phone as a modem for a pc on the proxy. Dunno what your disconnection problem is though, could just be o2 right now.

it does take forever my battery ran out once near the end of a download, still with free gprs now it makes it more worth while, if you were paying for your gprs would you still have a problem downloading or is it the same wether you pay for your gprs or not?
