I have just bought a K700i this is my first Ericsson phone always had Nokias before, I have just put it on for its first charge and I don't know if its my phone or if this is normal when I switched the plug on the phone lit up and after a few seconds the phone lit up and showed the battery in the middle of the screen charging but all the lights have stayed on with my nokias after 10-15 seconds all lights go off and the screen stays dark does the K700i screen and keypad stay lit the whole time its charging? Thanks for any advice..

I have been charging it now for 20 minutes and all the lights are still on, it isn't possible to put the connecter into the wrong holes in the phone is it as in the manual it shows the battery icon in the top right hand corner mine is slap bang in the middle, sorry if this question seems stupid but I don't know what to except from sony ericsson phones.. Thanks.

If you want the light to go off when charging the light settings need to be set to automatic and not power save.

Found in: settings/display/light

I realize as you are charging it for the first time you have yet to turn the phone on so this info is probably only usefull for future charging

it probably wouldn't hurt to stop it charging for a few minutes, but leave it like this. 4 hours is enough for initial charge and no harm will be done if the lights stay on all the time...

- do -

@bobafett - Yup! After some few searchin', I've make notice that fones should not be drained to the brink! In the case of the SE fone models, there should remain at least a bar on the batt icon before chargin' - thanks!
