As part of my software engineering degree, I'm doing Java programming, I was wondering if anyone knew how I could run a .class file on the P910i, is there a java runtime environment available for the P910i to do so?

Uh... of course it has j2me midp2 like just about any other phone out there. In addition to that it has the old personal java implementation, which is pretty much a full java 1.1.8 "j2se" with awt widgets and everything, which allows for real java apps (and not just midlets).
