Hey, just wanted to know if the owners of the P910i has noticed that their phone runs very slowly when trying to create a new message. I get a busy sign for at least 5 seconds. Sometimes (most recently) when i try to delete a message (by pressing C) nothing happens, it looks like it has frezzed, but then a confirmation of the delete comes up.

Just wondering if anyone of you guys had this.

Thats what I thought as well. I deleted all my msgs...emails as well. But still there is a slow down. Do you think having an animated GIF wallpaper could affect it? It did not in the p900 maybe it is with this one.

Can I ask a question which I notice. When you go over a txt msg and you press the OK button, does it open a message straight away, or does it look like the message would not open, but then it finally opens.

Thanks guys!

PS Just got an error msg when i pressed backup on the phone...any ideas?

Well it sometimes work perfectly and sometimes its crawls along. It is interesting only in the Messages part. Anyway Carphone Warehouse are going to be sending me a new one. What do you think the best advice for transfering over my programs. Would I have to buy new software again, cause the phones would have different IMEI number.

The P-series phones don't slow down regardless of how many messages are stored. I have about 528 SMS on mine right now (that took me forever to transfer from my P800)... now slow down at all... my P910 is actually faster than my P800. And although I can't confirm any CPU upgrade on the P910, I'm guessing they're now using faster onboard RAM, probably at par with the speed of the Duo Pro.

HAHAHAHA! I knew someone would ask that... well, it's out...

Hi, I'm John... and I'm an archive addict... hehehe

I store all forms of electronic messages... from emails (I still have some from 1997, migrated from my Win95 machine to my WinXP Pro machine) to SMS from old phones (saved on SIM... transferred from phone to phone)

I don't save everything... just certain messages. Dunno why. Hahahaha... just habit... addiction... hahahaha.. but hey... at least I found a procedure for the P800->P910 transfer. Some of you might need to keep some important messages... whether they be business or personal.

I am the exact opposite of you, I delete my SMS as soon as they are sent / have been read and although I don't delete emails (or even defrag / scandisk my PC) I do wipe my system on a regular basis and reinstall my software, I find it is faster than defragging by the time I remember to do it

but you seriously need to get help for your addiction, I am guessing the only reason you upgraded to the P910i was to get the extra storage space for your SMS
