hi i have just got my new k700i
it has been on charge now for about an hour
and all that has happened is a little red light has come inside the on button. the screen hasnt turned on or anything
is this normal
(orange manual said that the display should turn on after 30 mins charging)

When I charged my new K700i the first time I couldn't switch the phone on, and the screen didn't lit up itself.
I had to take the battery out, put it back and then I could switch on the phone. Since then it worked fine.

So take the battery out and reinsert it, maybe it helps like it did with my K700i

and u kno the little tab at the bottom of battery does that sit just above the phone housing or does it slot in aswell?

Sounds like u got a bad phone, when I got my K700i the battery was half full when I got it out of the box.
