> P910i - Was it worth it?
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I waited patiently this year for the P910i and upgraded my P800 after persuading work to fork out (£200 Singlepoint). I admit I may have been too keen and not read the reviews enough cause I although the P910 is a lovely bit of kit, I dont see it as being a huge leap from the P800.. My needs were simple-
VPN into SonicWALL firewall?
Push Email out of the box?
At present I have neither of these without spending money on add ons so am a bit bemused. Other things which annoy slightly -
Lack of Ringtones/Sounds/Images/Games/Videos included (Is there a decent place to download any of these.....FREE)
Not moaning just frustrated - If anyone can shed any light on the VPN or Push email I would appreciate it..I am on Voda UK
Cheers
G

for me, spending 500 pounds on a phone is idiotic
spending 100 pounds and getting a good canon digital camera for 200 pounds.
Or buying the K700i, or T630, but never 500 pounds.
DO YOU REALISE THAT IT IS HALF A GRAND!! HALF A THOUSAND POUNDS AND WITHIN MONTHS IT WILL BE OUTDATED
AGAIN !

The answer depends on your needs and finance. Notice: the fone isnt a good investment according the quick launches of new models. Buy a smart if u really need and use the features. Otherwise a good pda with a mid level fone.

@gary
Can't help with the VPN issues but re push email - the 910i hasn't shipped with the promised BlackBerry functionality (should be available as a SW/FW upgrade sometime soon though) but there are several other 3rd party push solutions for the phone. I use Smartner Duality (£3.50/month subscription + GPRS usage charges) personally but there are products available from Visto and Seven amongst others. Try this website and look for the professional option if you're looking to have your corporate email pushed to your phone, but don't want your IT guys to have a cardiac!

I WAS JUST TOLD I COULDNT GET AN S700i
BY MY DAD!!
i was gonna sell my p800 and get one, he said
"like hell"
so what about a k700i?
he said "like hell"
so instead i will sell my p800, but a 6 megapixel (which to he said ok because i he said it is worthwhile), and either buy a cheap

or keep my z200.

Ah Vanquish, I remember, you're that hilarious kid who was going to buy an S700i and hide it from his parents, from the other night, aren't you?
Bad luck mate, you should never have told them. If they don't know, they can't say no! Never mind, bud, they are, as you correctly pointed out, very overpriced and, having seen one, I've got to say I can't see how

can possibly justify this costing the same as a P910i. Must be damn expensive to put megapixel camera in phones, is all I can think

ahem!
i do not reply to 'kid'
i just have. damn.

(i am sixteen this year mr old man dave!)
well, the s700i is ridiculously overpriced. i am beginning to think - it will be outdated within 6 months, and normally keep a phone for a bout a year. whats the point? i will get sick of it. if it was 250 then ok, but not 500!!!!!!

The proliferation of the celfones now in the market, regardless of the brand is causing some problems with some people in the other parts of the globe-specially to 3rd world countries like where I live . . . it's not becoming that 'practical' anymore !
