I am about to order a 512mb mem stick pro duo for my p910. Is there any major difference in quality when it comes to Sandisk or the Sony sticks besides the price, im tihnking of performance.

I've used both in 128mb format on P800/P900 and am using both in 512mb and 256mb on the P910 and never had a problem or noticed any difference in performance or function

best to just go for the cheapest IMHO, i.e. the sandisk

edit: btw, don't forget the P910 comes with a 32mb sandisk duo

Sandisk are the same quality as Sony, just a damn site cheaper.

You are not paying for a Sony name.

Isn't sandisk producing both memory sticks and just brands the one?

I was told by the manager of a Sony Centre that both are made in the same factories so they are exactly the same just different branding!
There is no advantage to a Sony one, it's just the name.

both brands are made in canada, just check the back of the sticks. I would imagine they come from the same factory as well. I have a 256 sandisc pro, and its just as good as the sony equivlent! This message was posted from a T610

I do recall reading on my-symbian, however, that the transfer speed using a card reader is faster for the sony brand!
