A report on mobile9 states that Sony Ericsson camera phones are in high demand. And that is obvious - its ! I think the difference is se make phones that take pictures for the computer. Sure, nokia pics look great on a nokia but when transfered to a computer you can only view them at the size of a nokia screen otherwise they look rubbish:

"The demand for sony ericsson camera phones has risen by 45% over the year....."

it took them long enough to get the camera part right though. remember the camera on the the t610 z600 and t630 truely awful.
glad the k700 and s 700 got it so right as the camera seems to be something that cutomers are demanding more and more on phones

It took them time yes but they did get it right all they need to do now is to make a symbian/megapixel phone

It's suprising to read that are just the 5th biggest handset maker. I thought they would be higher than that on the table. Even Siemens are fourth, now that's suprising!

it's not surprising. SE never did very well .. they actually lost some market share again...

copy/paste same comparison numbers ..

Nokia unit volume in the third quarter: 59 million, up 13% vs. second quarter.
Nokia handset margins: 15.3%, up from 13% in the second quarter
Handset sales: Euro 5.5Billion vs. vs. 5.1Billion
Estimated Market share: 33% vs. 31%

In contrast, here are SonyEricsson's third quarter numbers:
SE Unit volume: Q3 = 10.7 million vs. Q2 10.4 million, up 3% sequentially
Margins: Q3= 8.1% vs. Q2 = 7.5%
sales: Q3 = Euro 1.7 million vs. Q2 = Euro 1.5 million
Estimated market share: Q3 = 6.8% vs. Q2 = 7.1%

@aquila

I remembered you posting something pointlessly negative on another thread so thought I would have a look through your other posts. I often wonder how so many people (myself included) can justify spending so much time on a forum about mobile phones, but I guess it's the community aspect and common interests. What I fail to understand is what motivates someone to trawl through threads looking for opportunities to rubbish and actually do this on a (generally) pro forum.

In a manner of speaking, it's pretty amusing, but please, instead of posting more crap that anyone who vaguely knows their way around a search engine could dig up, could you explain this phenomenon to me? Or better yet, there must be some anarchic campaign to which you could lend your skills (whatever they are )???
