Ive fully charged and decharged my battery 3 times already. I always do so the first couple of times to try and get the most of my battery. but i notice that im hardly getting 24hours functioning time on my p910. Im not even using bluetooth yet. I just mess about..make a few calls in total 20min..install a couple of apps...and bam empty.

I noticed that i lost 2% of battery life just by installing 2 .sis games.

I remember my p900 performing better. Is it normal with the p910 or could it be my battery?

I Guess the screen consumes lots of power.

Nah.. i know for a fact that the P9xx series consumes battery power easily, but this is ridiculous.

Yesterday I did the following with a 1000mah one year old P800 battery in my P910i (after a full charge):

- 14 hours with BT on
- 6 X 2 min calls
- 1.5 hour of web browsing while listening to music using Unrealplayer
- Additional 1/2 hour of music with the flip closed
- 1 hour of reading eBooks (Mobipocket)
- 1/2 hour of PIM use with a IR keyboard (again while listening to music!)

And at the end of the day I had about 15% battery life left! I think this is really good! Remember batteries do need some use (about a month) before they work properly. Having said that I was getting 48/60 continuous use (mixture of standby, 24 hrs of BT, dozen calls, lots of WAP+web) even with my new P910 battery.

@jah pretty impressive stuff.

Do you have a full steady network reach and whats your Firmware version?

@Ibinco

I should said that you need to make sure the GPRS is not connected all the time (see Control Panel>Internet Accouns>Other>Preferred Mode and select GSM only). If your GPRS is connected all the time the battery will drain very quickly. My firmware version is R1A30 (Organiser version).

There are a lot of threads in the P800/P900/P910 discussion forum on how to optimise battery life.

@jah

My GPRS is set at automatic. meaning it only activates when incoming messages are due. What happens though when i choose gsm only. Does it mean that an incoming mms message for example wont get through?

@Ibinco

Not sure about MMS; why try "GSM only" and see the impact this has on battery life. Also remember certain apps, such as the Cam, if left 'on' will drain the battery.
