This just recently happened on my p900 (few days ago).basically when I recieve a SMS I dont get alerted.The fone doesn't vibrate or play the ringtone and doesnt display anything on the screen, (as usually happens) and when I open messages I find I have a new message. I dunno if its the same for mms but certainly for SMS.Please can someone help me with this please?And is anybody else having the same problem?

Go to control panel of your phone then go to sounds & alerts. Maybe the alerts are off. Another thing is, maybe you have transfered your tones to your external memory.
I did transfering my tones to my external memory and the alert tones didn't worked. But when I brought it back to the internal memory it worked again.

no its not that cos I was getting alerted some of the time and not others but I did a master reset cos I had other problems and its fine now.thanks for the help anyway

By the way, about moving files to the external memory.
The reason it didn't work then was just because u moved the tone to a new location but did not reasign it in Sounds&Alerts, the phone then is looking in the wrong place that's all. It would be the same if u moved it to a different folder in the internal memory.
Of course u CAN use sounds that are on the Duo.
