Hello all. I need to "build" a bridge over a canyon. The task is to determine the minumum length of the bridge, by finding the length of the canyon. I have no measurments and am told to use trigonometry and bearings!
anything will be greatly appreciated! many thx in advance!

well what kind of bridge?
for an arc bridge ts prolly some function of sin(x)
or you can just draw a straight line
arc length formula:
y= sqrrt((r-x^2)) if youre gonna use a hlaf circle
why dont you post the q? up in hurrrrr so we can see it? Damnit im incoherent again!

bearings and trig seem to be to me GCSE level.
With what you've given us, its impossible to tell the length of the bridge. Perhaps there is a diagram or measurement you've forgotten?

@marceta - Maybe 'google' can just help you here

!
@kimcheeboi - Are you dead serious with your 'formula' back there mate? I never thought that you are good in solving mathematical problems? I thought your 'forte' is - "Geography" - island hopping

thank you soo much, u r a champion! however i do not really get L = A * "tg(a)" !
Tan is Opposite/Adjacent, and in this case, tan of a is L/A, so the equation would no work out? can u plz explain the formula a little bit better. thx again!
