I'll be making my regular donation in a couple of weeks and perhaps you'd like to consider giving blood, too? Minimum age in the UK is 17 and you could save a life. It only takes about 15 minutes. Thank you.

It's not painful. It's less painful than getting an injection. I often don't feel anything at all and, at worse, it's like a little scratch.

You don't get paid in the UK but I believe there is a payment in some countries.

I've been 5 times now. You get free tea and biscuits which isn't bad

Yeah, tea and biscuits! And a nurse fussing over you (hunky male nurses available, too!)

Only problem is the hours which the places are open. I've been to the same one every time, cos its reasonably close to my house. But they only open during office hours

The National Blood Service has listened to comments about its opening hours and there are now many evening sessions available. Many employers also give their employees an hour paid leave to attend a session.
