You know when u are writing SMS (not MMS) u can attach smiles but u can also attach that simple pics like rose, etc, u can also create a new one by drawing it dot by dot in the editor...I was wonderign how to find these type of pics and import them into phone....there are should be a directory that hold them on the phone...

On my P800 all those years back, when you create a EMS image, it saved it into c:/media files/images/EMS
(Dunno the exact location, it's been a while

)
The images used would be simple 2 colour .wbmp's no doubt

If u create one and save it then it should create that folder.
I guess then u could put any others u get in there too

I read somewhere that its not possible on the p900 cos I myself have also tried creating the EMS folder and saving smilies in there.The ones I saved didn't appear for selection in an EMS.It might work or I might have done something wrong.Any p900 users tried it and got it to work?let us know what exactly you have to do. cheers

The smilies are just graphical representations of a collection of text character and are standardised somewhat so different phones can receive them.
If you send one to a phone that can't receive them you will see : ) or : ( or whatever displayed so by adding a pic you will have to have the same text code readable and translated to a gif by all phones that can read smilies - not possible so you aren't aloud to add them.
I wanted to add the gif below but struggled for a while before I came to that conclusion.

no no no, the topic here is not a characters codes for the smiles that phones convert to the image, but the actual image u can attach to SMS, or it called EMS in this case. phone has bunch of predefined ones, but there is also a button "New", once clicked it opens a graphic editor where u can create a new one by inputing dots in the grid. so u can paitn anything u want..limited by the grid of course...

Why does a smilie appear differently on a LG phone compared to a SE phone then?
You are not sending the smilie, just the text which is interpreted by the other phone to be representitive of whatever gif the phone has linked to that text.
