ok, sometimes when you are trying to type, the screen kinda 'misreads' your touch and reads it as drawing a line from the nearest edge of the screen to the point where you have tapped....its extremely irritating when i am trying to enter words via handwriting recognition... does anyone else encounter this problem?

Ive noticed that a lot too. Sometimes you can even tap the screen at the top and get a response from the battery indicator. Another quirky bug implimented by Sony Ericsson to annoy us.

i find re-calibrating the screen helps. somtimes just a bit of dust/muck on the screen causes it.

Often recalibrating fixes it but my P900 screen got gradually worse & more irritation so now I have a perfect brand-new one on warranty

I only use the virtual keypad, so I do not need to worry about that. Much more accurate.
