I have a card reader that has been working fine with my 128Mb Duo card from my old P900. I've just got a new 512Mb Sandisk Duo Pro and it wont read it. Is the card reader the problem?

Anybody else suffered similar?

might be because they don't support the newer PRO ones..

i know mine reader doesn't

Doh! That's what i suspect also. If anybody knows of a card reader that supports the Pro cards please post a link.

Edit to add that I've found the spec of my reader and it only supports upto 128Mb cards. I need a new reader then.

This is good size, quality and all inserted cards are accesable at the same time i.e. you can have an SD, MS, CF & SmartMedia inserted at the same time & copy files directly between them.

Only really strange thing is that the DUO PRO must be inserted into the reader on its own. If you slide it into the MS adaptor then insert into the reader it doesn't show?? Better to just insert the PRO DUO anyway as it doesn't stick out as far.

Thanks for the recommendation. I looked at one of those after doing a search on the forum. the cheapest I found though was £30+. I only want the reader for the Duo pro's so this is a bit too much for what i need. has anybody got experience of one of the cheaper ones from ebuyer?

Check out your local Dixons store, i got a packard bell 8 in 1 card reader from them costs abit more @ 19.99 but its very small and compact and supports both memory stick duo and pro duo, even though it doesn't say pro compatible so on the packaging. This message was posted from a WAP device

Chances of card reader being able to reader both Pro and not is quite high. Since you have a 512MB MS Duo Pro, I presumed you have a P910 to use it for, if so, try to read the 32MB MS Duo Pro that comes with P910 if it would read. I'm not saying the 512MB is defective, but perhaps the card reader doesn't support high capacity on its MS slot.
