Bookmark topic
I asked a while ago and I dont think anyone was too clear the but I wondered if people had a better idea now how to. I wasnt able to put both my p800 and p910 on my laptop so i had to take the p800 off as it wasnt working with both.

it seems to work now when i just switched to the other phone in the cradle(tentatively I may add) but it doesnt recognise the ms on the OLD p800 when i tried checking it through pc mobiledrive OR when directly clicking the monitor(even though it states the change in phone etc yet it does when i put the NEW p910 on the cradle.
Is it a ms problem then?
OOPS it is , I just put in another sony ms duo(taking out the sandisk magic gate pro duo i got with the p910) and both the monitor and the pc mobile drive recognise it now. can anyone tel me if this is correct that it shouldnt be recognised when put in a p800 or do i have a faulty ms?

my what a marvellous tutorial I am providing for myself here and its great talking to myself too. anyways it seems then that i picked people up wrong before thinking the sandisk magicgate ms PRO duo would work in my p800 because it doesnt(even though it fits WITHOUT the use of a hammer as previously quoted by masseur).Just put it in the p910 and all systems recognise it.
Thank you folks you have been a marvellous audience and why these guys with the white coats wanna speak to me I have no idea.

just to clarify... the thread you are talking about is
this one and the hammer joke was in relation to a full size 1gb memory stick pro, not the sandisk magicgate ms pro duo you mention here
in that thread I also confirmed the following

sorry, missed that other one. since the p800 is limited to a maximum of 128mb then the largest you can get to suit both is 128mb
so my appologies if any of that came across wrong in that thread

not at all masseur, it was me and not you
however why i said what i did was so for you to come back and confirm as fact if its true that scandisk magicgate 32mb m/s pro duo will NOT work in p800-as it certainly doesnt in mine?

as far as I know there is no such thing as 32mb duo pro? duo pro start at 256mb, below that they are simply duo
any 32mb duo, be it magicgate or not, should work in the P800 but you will not be able to use the extra functionality provided by magicgate so it will act just like a non magicgate memory stick i.e. for storage purposes only and not for music rights management
(btw, I know alot of people say scandisk but its actually sandisk, without the "c")

Sandisk Duo Pro 32 Mb supplied with my P910i doesn't work in my P900 (says "Disk in D: corrupted"), so I would imagine that the P800 & P900 not only do not support the additional functionality of Duo Pro, but do not support the sticks at all.
Dave
@masseur
Just saw your post mate - that's weird. Isn't the Duo from your 910i box a 32Mb Sandisk Duo Pro - I thought all the UK models were shipping with this?

How about P910 using fat32 as filesystem so when you have had a memstick in it then p900 won't be able to read it anymore since it only understands fat16.
Just taking a while guess.
