I have tested the P910 with my little family of bluetooth headsets. Here are the results...
- The HBH-35, HBH-65, HBH-300 [my favourite] and HBH-600 all behave in the same way as each other. Switching on the headset* results in an immediate beep...beep...beep and the phone sets up the connection, displaying the new icon of a bluetooth symbol inside a pair of headphones. (*Assuming it has previously been paired with the P910, and that the P910 bluetooth is set to "On")
- A headset-originated request for voice dialing is almost instaneously answered. Received calls and P910-originated calls are transferred to the headset almost immediately. This is better than the P800/P900.
- For P910-originated calls, a message "Transfered to HBH-XX" then appears with options to (1) Transfer the call back to the phone, (2) Keep the call in the headset or (3) End the call. The message disappears after about 3 seconds, with an assumed answer of (2), so you can just ignore it in most circumstances. This seems to be a useful improvement over the P900.
- The blue light on the P910 does indeed flash quickly all the while that a headset is associated with the phone. I am concerned at the impact on P910 battery life of this association - is it going to drain faster? (Hopefully not, because even in old P900-style "On" mode, it would still have been listening out for the "Beep...beep...beep") Any thoughts on this? (I notice the HBH light does not flash any more quickly than usual).
- Unfortunately, for older (or other?) headset users, I can say that the HBH-30 does not maintain the connected state with the P910 in the way that the others do. For once, I put this down to the headset, not the P9XX. Voice dialing does not appear to work correctly from the HBH-30, due perhaps as jplacson has suggested to the conflict between the phone (which wants a connection) and the headset simultaneously requesting one.
Any thoughts or measurement of the impact on the P910 (or HBH) battery of the "connected" state would be welcome.

Good testing Hippo, but I have had different results with the older models. 'I think' I have every single class of HBH headset SE ever produced to-date. This is from early models like the HBH-10 to the newer HBH-660 which I am very excited about. I think SE finally got things right with that one.. However, I would have to say I have had differing results then you have. For example, I have not had problems with having the older models stay connected. I have to say a lot of connection problems have to do with the headset failing because it's close to its death rather then compatibility issue. As far as the HBH-200, forget about it

I think it was a total disaster and I have to say SE stepped up big time with the HBH-660 to make up for things. One thing users have complained about is SE stating that a lot of older models are not compatible with the P910. That is utter rubbish.. Do your own testing as I think every user will have their own results.

Bigfeat, you could be right about the HBH-30, it is certainly (er...) on its last lobes. I have re-tested it though after some effort to restore its factory settings (which it can barely remember) with the same results.

After a number of resets... on both my P910 and the HBH-30, I still can't initiate a call properly. This may be due to my FW version on the P910. I'm still gonna wait for the online update.
But the fact that someone else experienced it on the HBH-30, means that it is a repeatable glitch. So maybe it's a FW issue.
But receiving calls isn't a problem.
I'll be selling my HBH-30 anyway to make way for the HBH-300. The only BT headset I still keep is the 1st one, the HBH-10... for no other reason than it was the 1st. (And I think the charging cradle of that thing was so cool!)

I totally agree.. I love the charging cradle for that headset. It's definately a keeper..

The HBH-10 is my favorite of all the SE models. It has the most stable connections, in my experience, than new SE headests (haven't tried the hbh-660 yet, though)
The battery life is not great, but I only use it in the office, so it can sit happily in its charging cradle until I need it. Another advantage, if a call comes while the hbh-10 is charging, you can use it to answer. When the newer hbh-60 is charging when the call comes in, the headset is useless.
Any the BT on my T68i is much more stable than my P800 or P900.
