Lithium-ion batteries like those in today's phones don't suffer from the "memory" effect. This means you could charge them partially and not experience any negative effects.

Many ppl and many opionions. However, battery charging is not an exact science. You will be fine, doing what you do. IBM recommends letting the batt. on their laptop go down to 3% once a month and then fully charge it.

so it means that although i didnt do a 14 hours charge cycle the firsrt few times, i still can use the battery at 100% maximum capacity?

Actually the first 3-4 charging cycles are the most important... you don't need to drain it completely (and with Lithium based batteries you shouldn't)

There are 3 things that damage Lithium batteries... a complete discharge, 2 consecutive charges (a 10 min disconnect before recharging again), and an 'almost full' recharge (recharging your battery while it still has about 80% or more capacity)

Bad luck for me then, yesterday I had my p900 on the
charger/dock and got a call so picked up the phone answered and then put it back to the charger/dock.
It wasn't 10min apart and was defenitly charged over 80%.
Oh well... doesn't worrie me much never had a problem
with the batteries had in their phones since T68 was
released.

Actually, if it was less than 10 min (this isn't an exact figure) it's ok... you're trying to keep the battery cells from cooling off from the previous charging cycle. Once the molecules cool down, then you start charging again... this is when it affects the battery.

But don't freak out guys and gals... once of twice won't damage the battery. These are just precautions.

If you're the type you keeps their phone plugged in all the time... then unplug.. talk for a bit... battery cools down... charge is still 90%... then you charge again... EVERYDAY... then this will probably give a 6 month battery.

SE's batteries have smart chips built into them that try to maintain optimum charging conditions as much as possible... hence less problems throughout the life of the phone.

Actually, Se batteries since the T28 days have been excellent. (Although the T28 itself sucked battery juice really fast)

They are still the only manufacturer to use LiPol batteries in most of their phones. Others reserve LiPols for their highest end phones.
